Harriet Collective

The Harriet Collective is a parent-led racial equity committee of Lake Harriet Community School's Site Council. The committee is focused on providing resources, support and events for families in our community surrounding the subjects of race and equity. 

OUR VISION: We welcome, pursue, and value racial diversity at LHCS. Every hallway, classroom, and gathering reflects the strength and diversity of the people in it. Every student feels safe to be themselves, speak up, and thrive. 

OUR MISSION: We work together to learn about and celebrate each other's racial identities, cultures and experiences because we recognize that this is the foundation of a healthy school community. We support families to have conversations about race, even when it's hard, so we can actively address racial bias and call out and strive to change unfair systems.
